The Beard Downunder
Smoked Barley Wine Aged In Whisky And Rum Barrels
We reckon Rogue Ales from Oregon are pretty damn cool. So when the opportunity arose for us to make some beer with Rogue's John (aka "the beard") Maier, we jumped at it - like the proverbial bear to a honey pot! Here's a little factoid: Oregon is home to 25-30,000 black bears; it's quite a wooded area. The number of honey pots is unknown.
Hops: Crystal Hops from Rogue Farms. Malt: Maris Otter, Munich, Cherrywood Smoked Malt, Carared, Roasted Barley. Yeast: Belgian Abbey, Mr Special Special. Other: Aged Extensively in a combination of Rum and Whisky Barrels from Rogue Spirits.
